Here's your answer
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/C...350z_89511.htm

I can beat them off the line and put a bus length or two on them, but once I get going 110 they can fly past me..
then again my car tops out at 120... if I had a six speed and a better diff they wouldn't stand a chance

but these are just a few stupid kids dicking around on the interstate, while i agree that it would be very difficult to beat the srt, it might be possible given the drivers... but the srt def. has a good advantage.

but it is limited by its N/A. With a turbo and a lighter car the power is nearly the same at this altitude as it is at sea level, since it is at a positive pressure. That car weighs about 3700 pounds. I am not sure what a MS3 weighs, but it is nowhere near that. It is the power to weight ratio that is important here, not just all out power. A governor at 120 mph must realllllllllllllyyyyyy ssssuuuuuuucccccckkkkkkkk!!! I have no governor! hahahahah

"There is no replacement for displacement."

What you really need to look at is hp/lb ratios. The SRT is high hp but also heavy. Next is elevation which is robbing him of HP where turbo cars loose far less to altitude being F/I not N/A. I say just race, make a video and there we have it. From a roll might be better than a dig. He will tq like a mother in low end. Where as from a roll you can hit boost off the start. Just my .02.

Alright well maybe when I decide to race him I will tell him we atart at a roll. Also thats good to know about the elevation difference I didn't know that would make a difference. I'll have to see what I can do as far as getting a race together though, see if I can get a strip for a minute or something. I'll definately let you guys know if I do...

I haven't got too big into racing yet, except for like messing with idiots on the freeway... So I don't know how entertaining it would be...

In other words a turbo car running 10psi boost forces the engine to see actually 24.7psi (std. atmos.+ 10psi boost).

At sufficient altitude where atmos. press. is 12.7 means the engine will see 22.7psi. This is much less of a drop percentage wise(8.7% vs 13.6%) when compared with a normally aspirated engine at that altitude.

Now if a turbo system is referenced to absolute pressure it will then compensate (within its physical limits) and at our example of an altitude that has 12.7psi normally, the turbo will produce an extra 2psi to compensate for the altitude difference.

This means the turbo will now produce 12psi combined with our 12.7psi atmos. and the engine will see 24.7psi (absolute pressure) just like at sea level. The Audi systems do not do this unfortunately. But this is the way to go. Anyway we still lose less HP with altitude than normally aspirated engines.

If that makes sense. Now a N/a motor losses about 3%-%4 per 1000' so Salt lake is roughly 4000-4500' so he will lose about 12 - 16% of his hp from what he is factory rated.

A F/I motor losses I want to say about half that. The post above gives you a rough idea though.

A Speed3 should be right on par with an SRT-8 at this altitude. Just get your shifting and shift points down, like everyone else has said, haha.

SRT 8 Jeeps are completely different.

They have 420 AWD HP stock.
